Our why
Our mission and vision can be found on the homepage. Here we would like to explain a little bit further why we do what we do. For this we like to use the Japanese concept Ikigai which means something like “reason for being”. The concept of Ikigai helps to guide our business decisions. It tells us to go all-in when an activity meets the following four criteria:
- We have a passion for it
- We are good at it
- It contributes to the world
- We can get paid for it
When we started in 2018 we wanted to make demand-response software for the electricity grid to prevent grid congestion. That is why our company is named Gridware. During these first years we did some work in the sustainability and energy sector for Nieuwestroom and Qien.
When these jobs wound down we returned to our Ikigai: data driven assetmanagement for rail. It’s just what we are best at, what we love the most, what we get paid for reliably and what the world needs from us.
